Life Span: Born 1926 in Launceston -

Marital Status: Wife, Betty, Married 1950 Wesley Church, Hobart.

Occupation: Chemist Pharmacy at Glenorchy, retired 1984, due to massive stroke.

Rotary Service: A foundation member of Glenorchy Club in 1964 and was a driving force in the establishment of the Golden Years Club in Glenorchy.

Don was also instrumential in club projects to assist the handicapped in our community.

Community Service: Established youth club at Saint Paul's Church  and provided buddind young musicians support and training in establishing musical careers.

Both Don and Betty undertook many local involvements in a wide range of charities and local groups.

Awards: Many awards in the musical area, musical teaching plaque, Satchmo teaching award etc.

Summary: Best described as " A man and his music ". Don formed the Launceston band, " Jazzmanians ", frequently played at Wrest Point  with Don Denholm and vocalist, Barry Davies.


A dedicated professional identity with the highest of standards of morality, benevolence and christianity.
