Club Service plan for 2011/12
Club Meetings
- Develop a weekly Club meeting that provides members with the information and motivation necessary to increase participation in activities that serve our Club, the community and the world.
- Ensure weekly meetings are effective and well planned.
- Participate in a Club Visioning session conducted by independent Rotarians trained in the facilitation of such sessions. The aim is to give all members a ‘voice’ in the future direction of our Club and set unified goals for the next five years.
- These goals will be incorporated into the annual plans of future Club Presidents.
Public Relations
Public relations efforts are vital to Rotary’s continued growth and service.
Creating a positive image for Rotary is the responsibility of every Rotarian, both locally and globally.
- Establish a budget specifically for Public Relations.
- Promote our Club and what we do by informing our local community through regular items in the Glenorchy Gazette.
- Sign up to receive the Rotary PR Tips newsletter, a biweekly publication that offers innovative ideas that clubs and districts can use to promote Rotary in their communities.
- Encourage each individual to promote Rotary at every opportunity – eg. wearing your Rotary Membership and/or Theme badge on a daily basis.
Communication
- Update the Club directory and distribute quarterly.
- Revamp our Club website.
- Ensure every member is active in a service project or function. Club involvement teaches members about Rotary and helps retain them as active members of our Club.
- Conduct quarterly Club Assemblies and involve members in the planning. Club Assemblies allow all members to stay current, allow open discussion and to hear reports from the various arms of Service.
- Keep all members informed of Rotary activities.
